Rica Walker

Rica Walker founded Silver Lining Counseling of Lakeland, LLC, in May 2015. Silver Lining is a mental health counseling agency dedicated to providing affordable, integrated, and personalized counseling services. It focuses on the whole person’s needs and emphasizes wellness and prevention.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida. Furthering her education at Webster University, she received her Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Rica is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. She also supervises and mentors other counselors as they work on acquiring their state licensure.

Rica’s commitment to her community is evident in her life’s work. Before settling in Lakeland, she lived in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, where she served as a police officer and a proud Veteran of the United States Army for 22 years. Her dedication to mental health is further demonstrated by her more than 14 years of service at Good Shepherd Hospice as a grief specialist and supervisor.

She has been happily married for 29 years and has three adult children, three
grandchildren, and two four-legged fur babies. Rica cherishes spending valuable time with her family and friends, making memories, and exploring the world through travel. Her commitment to giving back is evident in her volunteer work with her church, where she serves as the youth leader and Sunday school teacher, ushers, sings on the praise team, and supports Joy FM on the prayer crisis line. Her goal is to grow the Kerrick Foundation to serve the community, ensuring everyone who needs services can access them, regardless of their financial situation. Rica believes in practicing what she preaches, prioritizing self-care in her personal, professional, and spiritual life.

Sherri Weeks is a registered Marriage and Family Intern. She attended Southeastern University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Master of Arts, double majoring in Marriage and Family Counseling and School Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Her approach is built on a foundation of inclusivity and understanding. She works with diverse clients of all ages and backgrounds, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported. Sherri’s experience includes Christian-based therapy or counseling, pre-marital, marriage, and couples counseling, as well as working with adults and children who are dealing with different levels of trauma in their past and present lives. She formerly worked with adoptive and birth parents through the open adoption process. Sherri has
extensive professional and personal experience working with autistic children and adults, which should reassure you of her abilities. Her passion for working alongside families with children, individually and collectively, to form a more cohesive family unit, will give you hope for a brighter future. She offers Christian-based therapy and counseling.

Sherri’s comprehensive training includes knowledge of practical and procedural applications in different therapeutic modalities. She is a certified play therapist, prepare and enrich couples counseling, utilizes the Gottman method for couples, and provides emotionally focused couples therapy. Her unwavering commitment to providing each of her clients with the most appropriate modality to address their emotional needs ensures that you will receive personalized care that values and understands your unique situation.

Outside of her professional life, Sherri is married with four children and three grandchildren and profoundly loves her cats. As a lifelong resident of Polk County, she enjoys spending time with family and friends at all the local theme parks, especially Walt Disney World, shopping, and traveling worldwide. These personal interests make her a
relatable and approachable therapist, fostering a sense of connection with her clients.

Daniel Moorey

Daniel Moorey, a licensed mental health counselor, embarked on his academic journey at Cairn University, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Bible. His passion for aiding others led him to the mental health field, where he furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. Certified in neurofeedback, Daniel applies his robust educational background to implement cutting-edge therapeutic techniques.

His unique approach is therapeutic and non-judgmental, providing every client with a loving and supportive environment. Daniel’s extensive experience with twelve-step programs underscores his commitment to holistic healing, allowing clients to reclaim their lives with dignity and strength. With a heart full of empathy and knowledge, he stands as a beacon of hope in neurofeedback therapy. Specializing in neurofeedback, Daniel has dedicated his career to helping individuals overcome addictions and trauma, guiding them toward a brighter, healthier future. He is not just a therapist but a transformative force, instilling hope and optimism in his clients as he assists them to navigate the complexities of addiction and trauma with expertise, compassion, and unwavering support.

Outside his professional life, Daniel is a family man, married and a devoted father of six, with two dogs that he loves. His passion for tennis reflects his competitive spirit, which he instills in his clients to help them persevere and feel motivated. As a Sunday school teacher, Daniel’s dedication to guiding others extends into his community, positively
impacting all fronts.

Mrs. Kachell George was born and raised in Polk County and has been married since 2003. Kachell is a licensed mental health counselor. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida, majoring in Criminology, and her Master of Arts- Counseling degree in 2003 from Webster University.

She has been practicing behavioral health for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she has worked in various clinical settings within the mental health field, including, but not limited to, in-home therapeutic services, school-based services, an intensive day treatment program for children with significant mental health concerns, outpatient services for adults and children, and a triage therapist for new clients.

Kachell’s commitment to treating the whole person is evident in her work. She has received specialized training in child sexual abuse, crisis intervention, and ADHD and is currently a Behavioral Health Liaison. Her focus on integrating the mental health treatment model with the medical care treatment model underscores her holistic approach. However, it’s her specific area of interest in educating minorities on mental health issues that truly sets her apart. She always strives to help her clients achieve a new you with a new view.

She is a multifaceted individual with various interests outside of her professional life. She finds solace in reading, relaxation in shopping, fulfillment in volunteering, and joy in
spending time with her family and friends. These personal interests enrich her life and contribute to her well-rounded perspective on mental health.
